Training days and events:

The Durham Wildlife Trust run regular training days to allow volunteers to understand the management principles underlying many of the practical tasks.  Training days and events are also a small way to thank you for the hard work you put in over the seasons.

Hedge Laying (9th March)

Sarah Edwards will be doing a short presentation at Low Barns Nature reserve followed by a trip to a Northumbrian Water site for the practical side.

Western Reserves site reccy (28th March)

Craig Best will take us round the western reserves sites to talk about spring, summer and autumn work programme and answer all your questons.

Charcoal Making at Low Barns (Sat 24th March)

Graeme Middleton will be running this event with possibly extra dates to follow. Usual BBQ, fire and camp.

Bird Song (23rd May)

Dean Heward will be doing a presentation at Low Barns followed by a walk and talk around the reseves to see what we can hear.

Spider Ecolgy, conservation and habitat management (20th June)

Richard Wilson of the British Arachnology Society has been booked for 20th June 2012, He will be doing a presentation in the morning at Low Barns, followed by a survey and ID in the afternoon.

Ospreys/Raptors at Kielder – early start (4th July)

Wildflower ID at Hannah’s Meadow (11th July)
